It is not something easy to do to find someone who actually hates barbeques. Backyard BBQs are a great way of having a fun time with family and friends. And also, the smell of the ribs roasting on the grill is kind of a very irresistible thing.

But there’s something that is particularly special when it’s eating time.

And yes… people do a silence and they taste the menu. And I’ve got to tell you this: People do know if it is good or if it is bad. Of course they do! This is actually, the most crucial moment of the meal.

To prepare tasty barbeques can be something difficult. You really need to know the how-to. And you will go nowhere if you don’t have the right menu idea.

And this is true, you need to have some ‘insider secrets’ so you can actually prepare BBQs so tasty that will make your guests love it.

So, I’m going to share with you my top 4 ‘insider’ ideas because I’d like you to prepare real tasty BBQs for your guests. And I guess you may be wondering why not the popular ‘Top 10′. And the thing is, I really don’t want to bore you with crap. That’s why I’m only sharing with you my top 4 best BBQ menu ideas.

1- Beer Style BBQ Menu: before you put the meat on the grill, put some beer on it. Wash it with beer. You’ll note the difference right away when grilling.

2- Using Whisky. I won’t say this is not an expensive idea, but if you try it sometimes, you’ll note the difference right away. Whisky will actually give a great taste to the meat and all of the other ingredients you use.

3. Using Citrus and Soy Sauce. If you can mix lemon juice with soy sauce, you can create a delicious sauce. Then you only need to marinate your veggies and the meat in this sauce before you grill. This is something very tasty.

4- Using Cheese, garlic and potato. This is my personal preferred idea actually. You just need to put garlic into the meat. Do this strategically, just by using common sense. And the cheese you put some over the meat after it is already on the grill.

If you have never tasted grilled potato, you’re really missing it. Preparing it is not something difficult, you just have to place the potatoes on the outer edges of the grill. And it may need like 45 to 60 minutes depending on its size. And when you check that a fork slides into the middle of it with ease, then it’s done.

Hey, just by writing this I already want to go to the backyard and prepare some of it. My mouth is watering already!

Ok, that is it… I’am going to the backyard. Remember this: there’s really nothing like experience. So you can even mix up these ideas and make some menu of your own. With the more experience you have, the better you’ll be at preparing awesome barbecues.

Italian Stromboli Recipe

Today lets take a look at the popular Italian Recipe- Stromboli. The actual dissimilarity between stromboli and calzone is that the former is rolled while the second is folded. There’s not much of a difference in the ingredients. Both generally contain cheese (usually mozzarella), meat, and/or vegetables. I suggest varying the ingredients each time you prepare them. But stromboli usually includes tomato sauce inside and calzone has sauce over the side for dipping.

Ingredients (serves 5):

* 2 tablespoons – extra virgin olive oil * 2 cloves – garlic, crushed * One – large onion, sliced * 1 – green pepper, chopped * One pound – button mushrooms, diced * 4 – mild Italian sausage, casing removed * 1 1/2 pounds – mozzarella cheese, grated

Preparation:

Make the calzone dough the same technique you make the stomboli dough. And prepare the tomato sauce the same method the stomboli tomato sauce was made.

Place the oil into a pan and heat up over medium and add the garlic. Cook for one minute and then add the onion, green pepper, and mushrooms.

Saute until the mushrooms have shed their water and the mixture starts to brown. Cook the sausage in a different pan until it proceeds to brown, breaking up the meat into bits.

Preheat oven to four hundred degrees F. Take the dough apart into five different but identical dough balls. Roll every ball flat on a lightly floured surface.

Cover each piece of dough by means of a layer of mozzarella cheese, followed by the sausage and vegetables and divide them evenly.

Cover again with the remaining mozzarella cheese and fold each dough sheet over, sealing the ends.

Using a spatula, move the calzones to 2 lightly oiled baking sheets. Lay the two pans in the oven, one on the lower rack and the other on the upper rack. Cook for 15 minutes and then reverse the baking sheets and cook for an further fifteen minutes. Offer with the tomato sauce on the top or on the side for dipping.

The Wonder Of The Food And Wine Experience

If you simply marvel at a great food and wine experience, and if pairing great recipes with great wines is something you are truly passionate about, then you need to read each and every word of this article.

Close your eyes and imagine the fun that happens when you join an online contest and you get to show off your best recipes and how they go best with your favorite wines!

And what would you call a contest such as this? You’d call it The Great Taste Challenge.

People from across the United States literally went into their recipe books and decided on what to make.

And this was all done on video camera.

These very personable people showed exactly how they made their dishes on camera.

Then those wonderfully animated people revealed what type of wine they thought complimented that dish best.

There they were, doing the thing that gives them such incredible joy…showing off their talents in the kitchen for their love of the corkscrew!

And these entries this year literally poured in.

What a wonderful way for people to show off one of those things in life that simply brings them so much joy. And who even knew that so many people were this passionate about the pairing of foods and wines? Who really knew that there were so many people out there looking for an excuse to create a food and wine experience?

And then the voting fun started.

That’s when these wonderful folks started to harness Twitter and Facebook and Flickr and every other social site they could to get the word out as quickly as they could that their video recipe submission needed the vote. It very quickly became an “American Idol” like atmosphere for voting where people not even associated with the contest started to have real favorites. Total blast.

These people started to tell everyone to go vote for them online so that they would have a shot to win.

What a blast.

The Great Taste Challenge is not over…and is still looking for your votes!

Fired up for an truly incredible food and wine experience? The Great Taste Challenge is a food and wine pairing event unlike anything out there.
