Pork is a meat that is an ingredient for some of our most favourite dishes. This is a meat that people have enjoyed since prehistory. This is a very tasty ingredient and it is very versatile. The following are some of the things that you might not know about pork.

- Pork is ideal for seasoning because of how mild it is. Each time you eat pork you could make it taste different and that is why you would never get bored with it. Just think about pork sausages and barbeque pork ribs and then you will appreciate how this can be done.

- Pork is not something that you have to avoid eating if you are trying to lose weight. In fact this meat is generally even leaner than it was a few decades ago. If you are hoping to lose weight then you should consider buying pork loin. If you want something really lean, then go for tenderloin as this is just as lean as chicken without the skin.

- Pork is a very healthy meat because it contains so many important vitamins and minerals. It is also a valuable source of protein which the body needs to grow and repair itself.

- You should be able to get rid of nearly all the fat in pork if you choose to boil it. If you wait for ten minutes after your meat has finished boiling then you will see brown gunk floating on the top of the water. This brown stuff is fat from the meat that cannot be seen before cooking and if you get rid of it, the meat will be healthier.

- If you grill pork then this is another healthy option. Grilling your pork on the highest heat possible will keep all the juices in the meat and this will make it tastier.

The above are a few very interesting facts about pork that you might not have been aware of before. You will have more reason to eat pork if you learn more interesting facts about it.

When it comes to pork chops, they can be really delicious provided that you know how to cook them properly. The number of recipes which include pork chops are too many to count in fact. If you wanted to eat pork chops every day then you could make a different recipe with them in it and you would not get bored.

The following are some tips for making really tasty pork chops.

- Boiling your pork chops might be wise especially if you are on a diet. When you boil meat it seals in all the flavours which means your pork chops will be very healthy and tasty. Cooking this way will remove almost all of the fat that is hidden. All you have to do is leave the boiled chops to settle for ten minutes after you cook them. You will probably see brown stuff start to settle on the top of the water. This brown stuff is fat which has come from the meat and you can just scoop it away. When it comes to cooking pork, boiling is a much more healthy option than frying or even grilling.

- If you want to grill your pork chops then you should make sure that you have set the heat as high as possible. When they have cooked you should wrap your chops up in foil for about ten or fifteen minutes as this is the best way for you to get the juices to disperse again.

- Your pork chops will be even tastier if you marinate them for a while before cooking them. This is a great idea for anyone who plans to grill their pork chops because it will allow the meat to cook better because it has a barrier.

- The pork chops that you buy in the shop should have a firm texture. The pork chops should also feel quite moist. The chops that you buy should not be pale; if they are then look for different ones.

How To Make Sorbet In A Vitamix

Making sorbets and ice cream in a Vitamix can be very difficult. Out of all of the recipes, this can be some of the hardest to do. The reason for this is that everyone has different ice. The trickiest part is to get the ice to water ratio correct. If you have too much water, then you’ll have runny ice cream and sorbet. However if you have more ice than you should, it can get so thick that it will cause the blender’s blades to slow down, causing the fan to slow down, and causing your machine’s motor to overheat, causing the machine to shut down.

A basic rule of thumb on ice cream or sorbets is for every 1 cup of liquid, you should use about 3 cups of ice, frozen fruit, or a combination thereof. Or better stated, to create a thick frozen dessert you need to have “roughly” about 25% liquid to 75% frozen. With regards to ice, as long as the ice fits through the whole in the lid it is safe for the machine!

If you’re making ice creams and sorbets in the Vitamix, a protip would be using the tamper tool while the dessert is spinning. Using this will reduce air and frozen pockets, and will help to create a nicer flow which will cause much better consistent mixing. Vitamix machines blend up the frozen material very quickly, and it can create air pockets at the bottom of the container. What would happen in this case would be that the bottom section will be very thick and the machine won’t appear to be doing anything. During this process however, it’s breaking down the ice to a perfect creamy state, and you will see two different colors.

Contents in the Vitamix start at the bottom, move out up the sides, across the top, and then down the middle towards the blades again. If you don’t use the tamper, your frozen dessert will become too thin from the friction. If you use the tamper and constantly move it up and down and left and right all the way in the container, you’ll create a better mixture and destroy any thick air or frozen matter, and cause everything to rotate more quickly and keeping everything creamy and thick.

Keep practicing with your Vitamix and you’ll get better, and the better you are, the more you’ll enjoy your machine.

The Debate Over Pork Carries On

Pork really often is the topic for many debates. A lot of people know all the nutritional benefits that pork can provide because it is a meat that they truly love. Then there are the people who don’t really know whether they should be eating pork and are suspicious about it; and then of course some people won’t eat pork because it is against their religion. Then of course you have the vegetarian who looks upon all types of meat eating as below them and can’t see anything good at all in pork. The anti-pork brigade manages to get plenty of support from the media who are always looking for sensational stories that will make money. The truth is people prefer reading about how bad things are; so they would prefer to hear how bad pork is and not how it has any nutritional benefits.
